Fictionally set during the Second World War in Norway, a German Scientific research team headed by Col Johann Schmidt (Hugo Weaving) was on his quest to capture and acquire untold powers from some ancient artifact. Meanwhile, in New York City, a frail soldier by the name of Steve Rogers was struggling to get accepted into Enlisting into the military due to various health issues and problems.
A German-based scientist, Dr Abraham Erskine secretly working with the US Military Research Team under Col Chester Philips (Tommy Lee Jones) for an experimental "super-soldier" steroids and vita-rays which will grant superhuman strength and agility to an individual. That individual who would be the first to receive was Steve Rogers who eventually gained that power.
The film did have some few good laughs, and we can always make do of it.
